Transcriptomic profiling of cultured macrophages derived from bone marrow monocyte subsets
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The bone marrow monocyte population contains subsets expressing differing amount of LFA-1 and Mac-1. The current analysis has profiled the macrophages derived from the LFA-1-hi Mac-1-hi subsets (MOhi2) and the LFA-1-lo Mac-1-lo subset (MOlo2). We found the transcriptome profiles of macrophages derived from MOhi2 (Machi2) differed from that of macrophages derived from MOlo2 (Maclo2). Machi2 and Maclo2 expressed different surface receptor markers expression and exhibited different panels of transcription factor activities. Functional enrichment analyses suggested Machi2 specializes in cell cycle related processes whereas Maclo2 has enriched expression of genes involved in immune responses.
