RNAseq of Germ-Free mouse liver following 6 week dosing of delta-valerobetaine fed either a control or Western Diet
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Objective:The goals for this study were to identify the specific contribution of the microbial metabolite delta-valerobetaine to transcriptional regulation of energy metabolism in the liver. Methods: 3 week old Germ-Free C57BL/6 male mice were treated with delta-valerobetaine for 6 weeks with control diet or Western Diet. Liver was collected at the end of the study period for analysis. Results: We found differentially expressed transcriptional networks related to treatment with VB. Conclusions: These results demonstrate the specific contributions of a single microbiome-derived metabolite to transcriptional regulation of energy metabolism in mammalian liver.
