Ocular proteomic and transcriptomic changes with aging in response to lensectomy in a rabbit model of lensectomy with intraocular lens insertion
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Previous work has established the use of a juvenile rabbit model and demonstrated an increased abundance of inflammatory and coagulation cascade proteins in the aqueous humor (AH) following lensectomy with IOL implantation at the time of surgery (Young et al., 2020).Expanding on this work, we seek to establish how the abundance of inflammatory and coagulation proteins in the anterior chamber changes with increasing age following lensectomy with IOL insertion in this rabbit animal model, seeking to explain the difference in post-operative scarring seen between children and adult humans.
