ABSTRACT: In order to understand why blocking gephyrin phosphorylation via mutating serines 268 and 270 to alanine disrupts PV interneuron development in the hippocampus, we recorded spontaneous and elicited activity in developing MGE derived interneurons within the dorsal hippocampal CA1 pyramidal cell layer, then aspirated the contents of the cells to detect differences in the transcriptomic state between sexes and genotypes.
