Effect of Hypoxia Preconditioning on the Regenerative Capacity of Adipose Tissue-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in an Experimental Model of Atherosclerotic Renal Artery Stenosis
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: DNA hydroxymethylation reflects gene activation. Hypoxia preconditioning can alter stem cell functioning by affecting gene activation. We wanted to assess the gene groups which would be activated and suppresed with hypoxia preconditioning to investigate and functionally correlate whether this strategy can enhance the regenerative capacity of adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells, which is a promising upcoming therapy for tissue regeneration especially for organs with a fixed tissue reserve such as the kidneys.
