Diffuse Alveolar Damage Patterns Reflect the Immunological and Molecular Heterogeneity in Fatal COVID-19
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: To date, few studies analyzed the nature of the temporal and spatial cell arrangement during the complex immune/inflammatory/molecular and structural cell alterations that take place in the lungs in severe COVID-19. Such information is crucial to better envision the disease complexity. To this end, we have applied a platform for multiplex imaging complemented with assessment of SARS-CoV-2, bacterial/fungi identification and cytokine/transcriptomic profiling in 18 lungs of deceased patients from Sao Paulo.
