MicroRNA-23b functions as a tumor suppressor by targeting Ras-related protein RRAS2 in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma

ABSTRACT: Analysis of deregulated genes upon stable overexpression of MiR-23b in UT-12 cell line by whole transcriptome microarray MicroRNAs (miRNAs) regulate gene expression at the posttranscriptional level. Here, we report that miR-23b - an evolutionarily conserved miRNA abundantly expressed in keratinocytes - is downregulated in cSCCs and to a lesser extent in precancerous lesions. We used microarrays to detail the global programme of gene expression upon miR-23b overexpressing SCC cell lines.
