Polydatin Alters Proliferative Properties and Synergizes the Inhibitory Activity of Doxorubicin and Cisplatin in hepatocellular Carcinoma

ABSTRACT: Polydatin (PD) is a natural compound associated with a wide-range of effects in cells and animals, including anticancer activity and lifespan extension capability. Ample research suggests the tumor suppressive effects of PD in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC); however, the molecular mechanism underlying this activity is unclear. To determine differentially protein-coding expression genes inducted by PD treatment, we used 50 µM of PD and DMSO to treat HepG2 cells for 24 h, extracted the total RNAs, and then employed the RNA-seq approach to analyze the transcript profiles. The obtained dataset consisted of all Poly(A)-containing RNAs, including mRNAs.
