Transcriptome of senescence-committed vs uncommitted cells upon oncogenic RAS signaling
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: To investigate how cells distinguish physiological signaling from aberrant RAS signaling to engage the senescence program, we used a model of conditional expression of oncogenic RASG12V. This allowed us to discover a Senescence Restriction Point (SeRP) where cells are not yet senescent but committed towards that cell fate. We then used transcriptomics to compare committed vs uncommitted cells, in order to identify the downstream effectors of that engagement program.
