Measuring the effect of deoxycholate on Bacteroides fragilis gene expression
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: We used RNAseq as an approach to assess the B. fragilis strain p207 response to the bile salt, deoxycholic acid (DC). A 6min DC exposure dramatically remodeled the transcriptome with approximately 20% of transcripts exhibiting significant changes. Chaperones and efflux systems were among the most highly induced genes, while protein synthesis genes were strongly repressed by DC.
