Adipose stem cells from people with obesity show impaired mitochondrial and lysosomal functions
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Adipose stem cells (ASCs) have been widely used in preclinical and clinical trials for the treatment of various diseases. However, ASCs from people with obesity (O-ASCs) are not thoroughly investigated. In this study we aimed to evaluate the changes of the biological activity and the function of mitochondria and lysosomes in O-ASCs. We then performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq of 2 different cells.
