Development of gene expression signatures in whole spectrum of leprosy
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: To further development of our gene expression approach in different groups of leprosy, we have employed whole genome microarray expression profiling as a discovery platform to identify genes with the potential to distinguish leprosy reactions and relapse cases from healthy controls. Human biopsy and skin slit were collected from reaction cases, PB cases, MB cases, relapse cases and healthy contacts. Total 1891,1384, 1134, 475 and 762 no of genes were overexpressed in PB, T1R, T2R, LL and relapse cases respectively. Expression of seven genes (glcB, infB, ftsH, ppgk, relA, rpsR and atpB) from relapse cases was quantified in the same RNA samples by real-time PCR confirming role of theses genes in relapse cases.
