Transcriptional changes by short- and long-term IFNγ in cancer cell lines

ABSTRACT: Chronic interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) exposure to tumour cells drives resistance to immune checkpoint blockade therapy (ICBT) has been characterised as one of the resistance mechanisms. However, the detailed mechanistic insight remains unknown to which interactor promoting this phenomenon. We found out that chronic IFN-γ to tumour cells was fundamentally different and those genes upregulated only during chronic IFN-γ has shown to a lower survival of cancer patients treated with ICBT.
