Zika virus modulates human skin cells to increase its transmission success
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Gene expression in human dermal fibroblasts was analysed 10 and 24 hours post infection with ZIKA virus, to identify processes involved in the production of metabolites that influence Mosquito host-seeking behavior. Cluster analysis revealed one cluster of transcripts affected by infection with ZIKV and two clusters of transcripts affected by the course of time independent from ZIKV infection. Enrichment analysis among transcripts affected by ZIKA virus pointed enrichment of transcripts involved in antiviral defence mechanisms and lipoprotein metabolic processes.
