ABSTRACT: Purpose: Phosphoinositide kinase, FYVE-type zinc finger containing (PIKFYVE) is a newly identified pathogenic gene involved in cataract. This study aimed to investigate the nature and mechanism of vacuoles related to PIKFYVE. Methods: We generated Pikfyve phosphatidylinositol phosphate kinase domain-deficient ( pikfyveΔ8) zebrafish using CRISPR/Cas9-directed gene editing. The pikfyveΔ8 homozygous and wild-type zebrafish were subjected to transcriptomic analyses. Results: Transcriptomic analyses revealed 8694 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Conclusion: Our study represents the first detalis transcriptomic analysis of pikfyve disruption zebrafish.
