ABSTRACT: Molecular underpinnings of vertebrate retinal differentiation and maturation are poorly understood, particularly for non-mammalian species. We generated single-cell transcriptome data from the larval zebrafish retina and characterized gene expression diversity among photoreceptor subtypes and their progenitors.
