Transcriptomic analysis reveals sex specific genes similar to human NAFLD associated with transgenerational NAFLD
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Comparison of bulk RNA-Seq data from the livers of male and female medaka fish, in the BPA lineage vs control lineage of f2 generation, with publicly available human NAFLD-NASH patient data revealed that 20% of DEGs were mutually upregulated with those found in human NAFLD patients. Additionally, 27.69% of DEGs were mutually downregulated, and 52.31% of ancestral BPA-specific DEGs were expressed in the livers of female fish in the BPA lineage. The activation of myc, atf4, xbp1, and stat4, as well as the inactivation of igf1, were associated with pathogenesis.
