Single cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) of epithelial cells from untreated and IFNy-treated colon organoids

ABSTRACT: The colon epithelium frequently faces environmental toxic influences that can result in injuries. Repair is rapid, mediated by cellular plasticity and acquisition of the highly proliferative regenerative state. The mechanisms that promote this state are not fully understood. Here, we addressed the role of the inflammatory cytokine IFN-y on mucosal reorganization and regeneration after injury by analyzing the colonic epithelium. We reveal that IFN-y drives widespread epithelial remodeling that also involves uninjured compartments.
