Mature Megakaryocytes Acquire Immune Characteristics in a Mouse Model of Aplastic Anemia
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Results: Megakaryocytes gain immune characteristics over the course of murine bone marrow failure; Megakaryocytes with immune characteristics serve as antigen-presenting cells and suppress hematopoietic stem cell function. Conclusion: Our results demonstrate the acquisition of immune functions by mature megakaryocytes in an alloimmune context.
