Fecal Proteomic and Functional Analysis of Equine Melanocyt-ic Neoplasm in the Grey Coat Color
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Equine melanocytic neoplasm (EMN) is the common disease in the older grey horse. The purpose of this study was to examine the potential protein throughout EMN stages from fecal proteomic outlining using functional analysis. Fecal samples were collected from rectum of 25 grey horses divided into three groups; normal group without EMN (n=10), mild EMN (n=6) and severe EMN (n=9). From the results, some potential proteins can be used as candidate biomarkers for the monitoring of early EMN, development of EMN, further prevention and treatment.
