Project description:We report the whole-genome sequences of three psychrotolerant Mycolicibacterium strains, TUM20983, TUM20984, and TUM20985, isolated from Antarctic soils. Taxonomic analyses indicate that these strains are putative new species. These genome sequences may provide insight into the cold adaptation mechanisms of Mycolicibacterium spp. through future comparative genomic studies.

Here, we present the genome sequences of two novel bacterial members of the order Frankiales, class Actinobacteria, isolated from temperate terrestrial forest soils. The genomes for MT45 and GAS493 indicate a genetic capacity for carbohydrate degradation but not nitrogen fixation.

Draft Genome Sequences of Two Novel Cellulolytic Streptomyces Strains Isolated from South African Rhizosphere Soil.

Project description:We report here the draft genome sequences of two novel strains of Streptomyces (NWU339 and NWU49) isolated from South African rhizosphere soils. Both strains were found to possess strong cellulolytic activity and contain numerous putative cellulase genes. Both genomes possess benzoate degradation pathways, while NWU49 contains the genomic potential for enediyne biosynthesis.
