Removal of anionic surfactant in laundry wastewater using EGSB reactor: effect of biomass adaptation
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: For evaluated of biomass adaptation, two EGSB reactors were operated. RAB (adapted biomass) reactor was operated in two stages: Stage I, with standard Linear Alklybenzene Sulfonate - LAS (technical grade; 13.2 mg.L-1); Stage II, the standard LAS, was replaced by diluted laundry wastewater according to LAS concentration (11.2 mg.L-1). RNAB (not adapted biomass) reactor had single stage (Stage I), directly with the wastewater (11.5 mgLAS.L-1). Thus, the 16S rRNA pyrosequencing was performed for two samples from sludge blanket: (i) Stage II - RAB and (ii)Stage I - RNAB. The samples were sequenced in a 454 platform. The two samples were sequenced in a run using barcodes. One sff file contain the reads from all samples.
