<i>Nitrospirae</i> spp. distantly related to thermophilic, sulfate-reducing <i>Thermodesulfovibrio</i> species are regularly observed in environmental surveys of anoxic marine and freshwater habitats. Here we present a metaproteogenomic analysis of <i>Nitrospirae</i> bacterium Nbg-4 as a representative of this clade.
