Chansu, which is prepared from the skin secretions of toad (<i>Bufo bufo gargarizans</i> Cantor), is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Being the principal bioactive constituents of Chansu, bufalin (BFL) and cinobufagin (CBF) have been shown to possess anticancer properties.
