We developed a proximity photo-crosslinking method (<i>Spotlight</i>) with a 4-azido-<i>N</i>-ethyl-1,8-naphthalimide (AzNP) moiety that can be converted to reactive aryl nitrene species using ambient blue light-emitting diode light.
