Analysis of the proteome of epithelial cells from mice with specific deletion of DHPS


ABSTRACT: Colonic epithelial cells from 3 Dhpsfl/fl;Vil1cre/+ mice and 3 Dhpsfl/fl mice were isolated, cells were lysed, and proteins were extracted and processed for quantitative proteomics analysis using tandem mass tags (TMT).

<h4>Background & aims</h4>The amino acid hypusine, synthesized from the polyamine spermidine by the enzyme deoxyhypusine synthase (DHPS), is essential for the activity of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A (EIF5A).
