Identification of BBOX1 binding partners using AP-MS in ccRCC tumors
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Gamma-Butyrobetaine Hydroxylase 1 (BBOX1) is a 2-OG dependent enzyme evolving in carnitine synthesis and lipid metabolism. In this study, we propose BBOX1 is a potential tumor suppressor in kidney cancer. We found that BBOX1 is generally underexpressed in ccRCC cells and patients. Restore BBOX1 in ccRCC cells suppresses tumor growth in multiple xenograft mouse models. To understand the potential mechanism, we plan to perform IP-Mass spec analysis in the cell-derived xenograft tumors with or without BBOX1 expression to identify novel binding partners which mediate the tumor suppressive role of BBOX1 in ccRCC.
