Project description:The NifA-RpoN complex is a master regulator of the nitrogen fixation genes in alpha-proteobacteria. Based on the complete Rhizobium etli genome sequence, we constructed the R. etli CFN42 oligonucleotide (70 mer) microarray, and utilized this tool to survey changes in gene expression in R. etli CFN42 wild type compared with NifA CFNX247 mutant strain in symbiosis with Phaseolus vulgaris. As expected, the genes associated with a NifA and RpoN binding sites were downregulated in the NifA mutant strain.
Project description:Investigation of whole genome gene expression level changes in a Bacteroides fragilis NCTC 9343 delta-ungD1 delta-ungD2 delta-PSH triple mutant, compared to the wild-type strain. Project description:The complete genome sequence of the P. vivax Sal-1 strain allowed the design of a first version array representing 1 oligo/2 kb of coding sequences (http://zblab.sbs.ntu.edu.sg/vivax/index.html). Here, proof-of-principle experiments using total RNA of parasites obtained from the Sal-1 strain, from P. falciparum and from parasites obtained directly from two human patients are presented. Project description:Bacteria belonging to phylum Gemmatimonadetes are found in a wide variety of environments and are particularly abundant in soils. To date, only two Gemmatimonadetes strains have been characterized. Here we report the complete genome sequence and methylation pattern of Gemmatirosa kalamazoonensis KBS708 (ATCC BAA-2150; NCCB 100411), the first characterized Gemmatimondetes strain isolated from soil.
