Project description:Investigation of whole genome expression changes induced by SGE1 30 minutes after induction of SGE1 expression in an SGE1 mutant strain of Fusarium verticillioides. Comparison between wild-type, SGE1 overexpression mutant GMTcp-272 (xlnp:SGE1 in SGE1 mutant background) and sge1 mutant in liquid medium (18 hrs) after induction with xylose. SGE1 plays a role in pathogenicity and synthesis of secondary metabolism. In this study, total RNA recovered from nine cultures of F. verticillioides (wild-type, sge1 mutant and SGE1 overexpression mutant GMTcp-272, in triplicate) 30 minutes after the addition of xylose was used to identify genes regulated by SGE1.

Project description:Viromes of sour and sweet cherry trees in Hungarian germ line collections were surveyed using small RNA HTS as an unbiased method. RNA from leaf samples of different cultivars were purified and used to produce seven pools from which small RNA HTS libraries were prepared. The sequenced reads were analyzed using bioinformatic methods to revel the presence of viruses in the samples. Presence of the viruses were validated using RT-PCR.
Project description:Whole genome sequencing of CTVT, breed dogs, and wild canids reveals pathways that are important in cancer cell survival. Comparison of these mutations with breed dogs shows that the original tumor came from a dog very similar to one of the modern Arctic breeds.
