Project description:This study aims at identifying non-coding RNA driving AAA pathogenesis and progression. To fish out AAA-relevant circRNA targets, we took advantage of array technology and profiled differentially expressed circRNAs in AAAs vs. non-AAA human tissue specimens. We then focused on studying circRNA-exerted gene expression regulation at the locus of origin and its implication in AAA disease dynamics.
Project description:By modeling interaction of cigarette smoke and hypercholesterolemia, we provide experimental evidence that atherosclerotic disease directly contributes to AAA formation and rupture; AAA progression is mediated by inflammatory Mφ residing within associated atherosclerotic plaque.
Project description:Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a permanent segmental dilatation of the abdominal aorta, contributing to a high mortality once rupture. We performed RNA-sequencing analysis of abdominal aorta tissues from 14 participants, including seven patients with AAA and seven control individuals.
Project description:Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) was performed on the infrarenal abdominal aortas from C57BL/6J mice at days 7 and 14 post periadventitial elastase-induced AAA or days 14 post periadventitial heat-inactive elastase incubation. This study report the changes of cellular subpopulations, fractions and transcriptomic profiles in response to elastase-induced AAA model.
