Project description:Taxonogenomics coupled with culturomics promotes the isolation and characterization of bacteria. Kallipyga gabonensis sp. nov. strain GM4 is a strictly anaerobic, Gram-positive, and non motile coccus isolated from the stool of a Gabonese male teenager. The genome is 1,621,211 bp long with 50.01% G+C content and two scaffolds. Of the 1,536 predicted genes, 1,475 were protein-coding genes and 61 were RNA genes. A total of 931 genes were assigned a putative function, and 79 genes were identified as ORFans.
Project description:Klainedoxa gabonensis Pierre ex Engl. is an important tropical tree species. In this study, its complete plastome sequence was determined. This is the first reported complete plastome sequence in the family Irvingiaceae. The plastome is totally 160,118?bp in length, containing a pair of 26,963-bp-long inverted repeat regions (IRs), a large single copy region of 88,157?bp, and a small single copy region of 18,035?bp. A total of 112 unique genes were identified in K. gabonensis plastome, of which 78 are protein-coding genes, 30 are tRNA genes, and four are rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis confirmed the close relationship between K. gabonensis and Irvingia malayana.
Project description:We describe a new strain named Bartonella gabonensis sp. nov. strain 669T (CSURB1083). The entire genome of this strain is described here. It was isolated from a savannah rodent, a brush-furred rat (Lophuromys sp.), trapped the city of Franceville in Gabon, in Central Africa. B. gabonensis is an aerobic, rod-shaped and Gram-negative bacterium. On the basis of the organism's features, and following a taxonogenomic approach, we propose the creation of the species Bartonella gabonensis sp. nov.
Project description:Detection of new bacteria becomes a major part of culturomics studies coupled with taxonogenomics. Using these strategies, we report here the main characteristics of a new species, "Intestinimonas gabonensis" strain GM5. It is a bacterium isolated from a stool specimen from a 27-year-old man from Gabon.
