Project description:In general, the endosphere isolate EC18 showed more numbers of genes significantly altered in the presence of root exudates than the soil isolate SB8 . Some of the altered genes in the two strains showed overlap. Some of these genes were previously reported to be involved in microbe-plant interactions, such as organic substance metabolism, oxidation reduction, transmembrane transportation and a subset with putative or unknown function. It was also found some genes showed opposite trend among the two strains.
Project description:Summary: Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium strain 14028s transcriptome response to DS soil suspension (DS) and suspension of autoclaved DS soil (DA) compared to minimal medium (MM). Purpose: Salmonella mRNA profile, when grown in different media was compared to minimal medium to reveal environment specific transcriptional changes. Methods: mRNA profiles were generated using Illumina HiSeq in triplicates. The sequences were analysed using Bowtie2 followed by Cufflinks.
Project description:M. oryzae 70-15 was treated with multiple bacteria which inhibit 70-15's growth. The bacterial treatments were EA105, a pseudomonad naturally isolated from rice soil, as well as P. fluorescens biocontrol strain CHAO and the cyanide non-producing mutant of CHAO, CHA77.
