ABSTRACT: Effects of dietary probiotics supplements on the growth performance, antioxidant capacity, and intestinal health of juvenile Eriocheir sinensis
Project description:The transcriptome profiling five tissues of juvenile Eriocheir sinensis, including gill, muscle, thoracic ganglion, eyestalk and hepatopancreas, were sequenced to get the basic dataset for constructed a genome-scale metabolic network model for E. sinensis. The model was used to predict the optimal nutrient requirements of E. sinensis in feed and suggestions for feed improvement were put forward based on the simulation results.
Project description:We sequenced the mRNA in the Y-organ of normal and eyestalk-ablated Eriocheir Sinensis and obtained the transcriptome profiling (RNA-seq) of the two samples with Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technique. The unigene expression of the two samples were compared and the differetially expressed unigenes were listed.
Project description:The accessory gland (AG), an important component of the male reproductive system, enhances the fertility of spermatozoa during male reproduction. Some AG proteins are known to bind to the spermatozoa membrane and affect its function and properties. In this study, we describe, for the first time, a comprehensive catalog of proteins of the AG secreted fluid during the mature phase of the Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis). AG secreted proteins were separated by one-dimensional gel electrophoresis and analyzed by reverse phase high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS).

Project description:Developmental gene expression patterns (9812 genes) of juvenile and adult C. sinensis were analyzed using a 12K oligonucleotide microarray (a total of 11617 genes). A number of significantly differentially expressed genes having more than 2-fold difference were observed in adult stage compared to juvenile stage. This finding suggests that the expression levels of different gene sets are controlled in C. sinensis for adaptation to environmental change, such as developmental stages.
