Project description:To investigate the transcriptomic characteristics of CD11b+F4/80+ cells in the brain of JEV- infected WT and Vegfr-3ΔLBD/ΔLBD mice, we sorted the CD11b+F4/80+ cells from the brain of WT and Vegfr-3ΔLBD/ΔLBD mice post 5 days of JEV infection by FACS. We then performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq of 2 different cells.
Project description:We inflicted TBI to wildetype (wt) mice in order to establish whether the anti-inflammatory agent cyclophosphamide can be used therapeutically. Cyclophosphamide was found to regulate distinct inflammatory cells such as activated microglia separate from invading phagocytes and dendritic cells. Cyclophosphamide postinjury selectively reduces antigen-presenting dendritic cells. Findings show feasibility of drug development to interfere with brain inflammation.
Project description:Bone marrow cells were isolated from wild type and Tbx21 knockout mice. iNK (Lin- NK1.1+ CD11b- CD27+) and mNK1 (Lin- NK1.1+ CD11b+ CD27+) were sorted from WT and Tbx21 KO mice. mNK2 (Lin- NK1.1+ CD11b+ CD27-) were sorted from WT mice only, since these cells are not present in Tbx21 KO mice.

We integrated GWAS mapping of testis expression traits and low testis weight to gain insight into the genetic basis of hybrid male sterility. Gene expression was measured in whole testis from males aged 62-86 days. Samples include 190 first generation lab-bred male offspring of wild-caught mice from the Mus musculus musculus - M. m. domesticus hybrid zone.
