Project description:We performed carefully designed and controlled animal feeding studies. We devided 9 adult rats in three group and each group fed with one type of diets in 28 days: rice, potatoes and chow. We fed piglets in triplicate either with cow milk or let them feed from sows milk for 4 weeks followed by 7 weeks of maize diet. Based on the small RNA sequencing data from 9 rat and 6 pig serum samples, we detected no transfer of plant miRNAs into rat blood, or bovine milk sequences into piglet blood.

Transcriptome Analysis of Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio) Fed with Animal and Plant Diets

Project description:purpose?To elucidate the relationship of utilization different type of diets in fish method?enzyme activity determination and transcriptome sequencing were performed in common carp fed with single animal diet group (group AD), plant diet group (group PD) and mix diets group (group MD). Group MD as control group results? 916 and 1296 differentially expressed genes were identified between group AD vs MD and PD vs MD. Protein digestion and absorption, bile secretion, hematopoietic cell lineage and intestinal immune network for IgA production pathways were significantly differentially expressed between common carp fed with single type of diet and mix diets. Conclusion?common carp fed with mix diets had stronger immunity than common carp fed with single type of diets.

Different Diets Change the Expression of Bovine Serum Extracellular Vesicle-miRNAs

Project description:The effects of different diets on bovine serum extracellular vesicle (EV)-miRNAs are explored by small RNA Solexa sequencing. We partly replaced alfalfa hay with whole cotton seed and soybean hull in the feed formula of treat cows. Small RNAs are enriched in bovine serum EVs, including miRNAs, snRNAs, tiRNAs, Cis-regulatory elements, piRNAs, etc. Totally 359 bos taurus miRNAs are identified by sequencing. There are 15 immune-related miRNAs in the top 20 serum EV-miRNAs, accounting for about 80% of the total. Seven differently expressed known miRNAs were detected in responding to different diets. KEGG analysis showed differently expressed miRNAs are related to hormone signal pathways and protein metabolism.

How different diets alter skeletal muscle in pig

Project description:we want to test how different diets (high energy diet HED and low energy diet LED) alter muscle methabolism in pigs. we perform different array experiments using an human platform (GPL2011) and RNA extracted from pig skelethal muscle. thank's this we also test cross-species hybridisation. extraction of RNA from pig skeletal muscle by a modification of Chomczynski protocol. cDNA was purified and labelled with Cy3 and Cy5 fluorochromes using the cDNA labeling purification module kit (Invitrogen). The HED samples were analysed in comparison to LED samples, used as reference. The labelled cDNA were appropriately coupled and used for competitive hybridisation on the same microarray at 42Â°C for 16h. The relative intensity of labelled cDNA in HED and LED was acquired with ScanArray LITE scanner (PerkinElmer Life Sciences, Inc). platform used for our experiments is GPL2011.
