In this study we aimed to understand and quantify the contribution of DNA methylation variation to heterosis in various traits of Arabidopsis. Therefore we created epigenetic hybrid lines from ddm1-derived epiRILs. We performed whole genome sequencing on four epiHybrids and their parental lines (epiRILs & Col-wt) in duplicates to examine structural variants in hybrids genome wide and with a focus on previously mapped QTL regions.

Project description:WGBS of 169 ddm1-derived epiRILs 169 ddm1-derived epigenetic recombinant inbred lines (epiRILs) were obtained from the Versailles Arabidopsis Stock center of INRA (http://publiclines.versailles.inra.fr/) and they were propagated in a fully automatic phenotyping facility for small plants at the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK). Whole Genome Bisulphite Sequencing was performed at the Beijing Genome Institute.
