Project description:This research work investigates the expression of the genes involved in flavor compound production in two hybrids between Saccharomyces cerevisiae and S. kudriavzevii under low (12°C) and moderate fermentation temperatures (28°C).
Project description:The aim of this project was to evaluate the ploidy of a S. cerevisiae *S. kudriavzevii hybrid in comparison to the lab strain S288C. Other wine yeast have been icluded in the project for the global analysis.
Project description:Comparative genome-wide gene expression analysis between a wine yeast strain belonging to the species S. cerevisiae and the type strain from S. kudriavzevii IFO1802, a cryotolerant yeast, in natural must fermentations.
Project description:A propolis-resistant Saccharomyces cerevisiae mutant strain was obtained using an evolutionary engineering strategy based on successive batch cultivation under gradually increasing propolis levels. The mutant strain FD 11 was selected at a propolis concentration that the reference strain could not grow at all. Whole-genome transcriptomic analysis of FD11 was performed with respect to its reference strain to determine differences in gene expression levels between the two strains. Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Project description:This research work investigates the hybridization of the genes of Saccharomyces bayanus var. uvarum CECT 12600 and S. kudriavzevii IFO1802 employing S. cerevisiae microarrays. Two strains, one S. kudriavzevii and one S. bayanus var. uvarum were employed for the study. The S. cerevisiae strain S288C was used as control for microarray hybridizations. All experiments were performed using duplicate arrays, and Cy5-dCTP and Cy3-dCTP dye-swap assays were performed to reduce dye-specific bias.
