Project description:There is evidence that small extracellular vesicles (sEV) play a vital role in immune responses to viral and bacterial infection. Characteristics of urinary sEV, however, from pediatric patients with pneumonia remain to be ill-defined. In this study, we isolated sEV from urines of children with viral pneumonia or Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia and healthy children and performed label-free proteomic analysis of these vesicles and identified viral-specific differentially expressed proteins compared with healthy children. Results of functional enrichment analysis suggest that the proteomic profiles of urinary sEV serve as the basis for understanding the fundamental biology of infection in children with viral pneumonia.
Project description:To further development of our miRNA diagnostic approach to Kawasaki disease(KD), we have employed microRNA microarray expression profiling as a discovery platform to identify microRNAs as the potential biomarkers to rapidly diagnose Kawasaki disease. Pooled exosome of serum in equal amount from 5 healthy children, 5 KD patients and 5 KD patients after Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy were used for microRNA microarray analysis. MicroRNA profile of exosome from Kawasaki disease(KD) was analyzed by microRNA microarray analysis in 5 healthy children, 5 KD patients and 5 KD patients after IVIG therapy.
Project description:The “nonclassic” apparent mineralocorticoid excess (NC-AME) has been identified in approximately 7% of general population. Our aim was to identify miRNAs within urinary exosomes associated to the NC-AME phenotype. A total of 18 urine samples (9 control and 9 NC-AME) derived from adult and children subjects were analyzed using small RNA sequencing.
Project description:In the present study, the isolated serum exosomes from healthy adults, rats and mice were comparatively characterized; the small RNA compositions were analyzed; the serum exosome miRNA profiles and exosome depleted serum miRNA profiles were obtained by small RNAseq, and the distributions of miRNA component inside and outside of the serum exosomes were also compared.
