Project description:Molecular basis for CNS dysfunction in simian immunodeficiency virus-infected rhesus monkeys. We used microarrays to identify differentially expressed genes in chronic simian immunodeficiency virus-infected rhesus monkeys. Frontal lobe samples were obtained from control and SIV infected animals for RNA extraction and hybridization on Affymetrix microarrays. We sought to better understand the gene that changes in gene expression with SIV infection in the frontal lobe.

Impact of Hells loss-of-function on DNA methylation in B cells during humoral immune responses: kinetic comparison of Mb1-Hells knockout and control mice by enzymatic-methyl sequencing

Project description:We are interested in deciphering the mechanism by which DNA methylation in late B cell differentiation affects humoral immune response. We were using enzymatic-methyl sequencing (EM-seq) and chose to study a very rare immunodeficiency called ICF type 4, where a point mutation in a gene encoding the protein HELLS causes a lack of both circulating antibodies and memory B cells in human. HELLS is a chromatin remodeler, that allows for DNA methylation to occur.

Hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) in mice transduced in utero with feline immunodeficiency virus-based vectors (expression)

Project description:Fetal mice (16 days gestation) were administered feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV)-based lentiviral viral particles containing the gene encoding GFP. Six liver tumors developed in three mice between the ages of 273 and 484 days, each mouse developed 2 tumors. These tumors and non-tumorous liver tissue from the same animals and animals that did not develop tumors and untransduced controls were harvested and microarrays were performed on total RNA extracted from these samples. We were interested in investigating the link between lentiviral integration and gene expression. Keywords: Comparison of HCC with non-tumorous liver tissue adjacent to tumor.
