Project description:In order to investigate the physiological and biochemical characteristics and molecular mechanisms during the leaf colour change of Acer rubrum L, this study used Acer rubrum L. 'Autumn Blaze' cuttings as material and analysed the transcriptome and miRNAs of Acer rubrum L leaves under different light and temperature treatments. The transcriptome and miRNAs of Acer rubrum L leaves were analysed under different light and temperature treatments, and miRNA-mRNA association analysis was performed for the differentially expressed mRNAs and miRNAs.

Liver-protecting Effect of Maple Syrup

Project description:Rats fed a 20%-maple syrup diet (maple syrup group) for 11 days showed significantly lower values of the hepatic function markers than those fed a 20%-sugar mix syrup diet (control) likewise. One reasons was suggested by DNA microarray analysis which revealed that the expression of genes for enzymes of ammonia production were down-regulated in the liver of maple syrup group. Rats were quarantined and conditioned by administration of the authentic AIN93G diet for 4 days. Rats had free access to the diet and drinking water during this preliminary feeding. For feeding tests, they were dichotomized (n = 7 and 8) for maple syrup and sugar mix syrup group, respectively, and then fed for 11 days on either the AIN93G diet containing 20% maple syrup or on the 20% sugar mix syrup with a similar sugar composition; the amount of maple syrup or the sugar mix syrup was arranged. Rats in both diet groups were fasted for 16 hours, prior to being anesthetically sacrificed for dissection.

Evaluation of cold tolerant Saccharum spontaneum and identification of proteins related to cold tolerance by proteomic analysis

Project description:Saccharum spontaneum L., the main source of tolerance gene in sugarcane variety, is one of the most valuable germplasms for sugarcane breeding. In this study, 22 clones of S.spontaneum L. were selected from more than 690 collections in our preliminary experiment, and the cold tolerance of these clones were evaluated by physiological and biochemical indicators. Then 2 clones which were designated as lines 1027 and 3217,with contrasting cold tolerance ability were selected for further proteome analysis using DIA and PRM technology.
