Project description:Investigate long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) expression characteristics in the peripheral blood lymphocytes of Xinjiang Kazakh people with essential hypertension.
Project description:This project has integrated SILAC proteomics data of wild type and knockout mitotic chromosomes, and used machine learning technique random forests to identify chromosomal complexes with high precision, and small training sets.
Project description:A large corpus of 112 keratin extracts from archaeological fibres collected in Bronze Age and Iron Age sites of the Keriya valley in the Taklamakan desert (Xinjiang, China) was analyzed by bottom-up proteomics for archaeological purpose.
Project description:Bark beetles (Coleoptera: Scolytinae) are pests of many forests around the world. The mountain pine beetle (MPB), Dendroctonus ponderosae Hopkins, is a significant pest of western North American pine forests. The MPB is able to overcome the defences of pine trees through pheromone-assisted aggregation that results in a mass attack of host trees. These pheromones, both male and female produced, are believed to be biosynthesized in the midgut and/or fat body of these insects. We have used transcriptomics (RNA-seq) to identify transcripts differentially expressed between sexes and between tissues, with juvenile hormone III treatment, which is known to induce pheromone biosynthesis.
Project description:Salt cress (Eutrema salsugineum, synonymously Thellungiella salsuginea) is an extremophile, a close relative of Arabidopsis. In order to understand the selective mechanisms that shape their complex traits underlying natural variation, we analyzed the physiological and proteomic differences between Shandong (SD) ecotype and Xinjiang (XJ) ecotype.
Project description:To explore whether KSHV infection is a risk factor for osteosarcoma development in ethnic Uyghur population. Sarcoma specimens including tumor, adjacent normal tissues and paired blood samples were obtained from several osteosarcoma patients of Xinjiang China. Then, osteosarcoma clinical samples were subjected to analysis for the presence of the KSHV genome and proteins. Gene expression profiles of these osteosarcomas were analyzed to reveal the pathogenesis of KSHV-positive and -negative osteosarcomas.
Project description:Improving the fertility of sheep is an important goal in sheep breeding as it greatly increases the productivity. Dolang sheep is a typical representative breed of lamb in Xinjiang and is the main local sheep breed and meat source in the region. To explore the genes associated with the initiation of puberty in Dolang sheep, the hypothalamic tissues of Dolang sheep prepubertal, pubertal, and postpubertal periods were collected for RNA-seq analysis on the Illumina platform.
