ppmax2 response to gr24-Strigopath/Physcomitrella patens

Project description:4plex_physco_2014-05 - ppmax2 response to gr24 - How does the Ppmax2 moss mutant respond to Strigolactone (GR24)? - Two moss genotypes are used: WT and the Ppmax2 mutant. Moss tissues are fragmented, then plated on medium (Petri dish with cellophane disks) and cultivated for 3 weeks. Moss tissues are then transfered for 6 hours on acetone-containing medium (control treatment, for WT and Ppmax2) or GR24 (1 microM, in acetone)-containing medium (for Ppmax2). After 6 hours, the moss tissues are collected, quickly forzen in liquid nitrogen. RNA are isolated using the Quiagen RNeasy Plant mini kit (including a RNase-free DNase treatment on column). Two similar experiments (T1 and T2) have been led.

Bioprospection of the aromatic potential of species from the Atlantic Rainforest in São Paulo: occurrence, taxonomy and chemical, genetic and physiological characterization of plant populations

Project description:Native plants were sampled from nine Atlantic rainforest locations in Brazil for botanical identification, herbarium mounts and chemical analyses. Plants were marked and the coordinate reference determined by Global Positioning System (GPS). Botanical names are as presented in the list of species of Brazilian flora (Lista de Espécies da Flora do Brasil, Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro, 2015). Voucher specimens were deposited at the Herbarium of Instituto Agronômico de Campinas (IAC) (http://herbario.iac.sp.gov.br/), under the given accession numbers (Table 1). Marked plants were resampled in two subsequent years and those failing to be located or in poor condition were excluded from analyses. Environmental data were obtained from meteorological stations at the locations. Monthly values were used to calculate the average seasonal data.
