Transcription profiling of mouse F9 embryonal carcinoma cells exposed to differentiating agents (retinoic acid or trichostatin A) vs controls

ABSTRACT: F9 cells were exposed to two different differentiating agents (retinoic acid or trichostatin A both dissolved in 100% ethonal) for 24 hrs. Control cells were exposed to ethonal for 24hrs

Regulation of tissue homeostasis is crucial to disease prevention; cell division, cell cycle arrest, differentiation and apoptosis have to be tightly controlled in order to maintain this homeostasis. Retinoic acid (RA) and the histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACIs) have profound effects on these processes and thus may be critical regulators of homeostasis. Consequently, RA and/or histone deacetylase inhibitors are currently being tested in clinical trials for a variety of cancers. Unfortunately  ...[more]
