Expression Profile of Skeletal Muscle from Young and Aged C57B1/6 Mice

ABSTRACT: Our laboratory wanted to define the transcription profile of aged skeletal muscle. For this reason, we performed a triplicate microarray study on young (3 weeks) and aged (24 months) gatrocnemius muscle from wild-type C57B16 Mice Keywords: other this experiment include 2 samples and 6 replicates

ORGANISM(S): Mus musculus

Skeletal muscle ageing is characterized by faulty degenerative/regenerative processes that promote the decline of its mass, strength, and endurance. In this study, we used a transcriptional profiling method to better understand the molecular pathways and factors that contribute to these processes. To more appropriately contrast the differences in regenerative capacity of old muscle, we compared it with young muscle, where robust growth and efficient myogenic differentiation is ongoing. Notably,  ...[more]
