ABSTRACT: We report the application of Illumina short RNA sequencing for characterization and discovery of miRNAs and moRNAs, and for identification of differentially expressed small RNAs in circulating CD34+ cells from Primary Myelofibrosis (PMF) patients and from normal controls pooled bone marrow CD34+ cells. Short RNAs sequencing for miRNA quantification, discovery and characterisation.

Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are chronic myeloid cancers thought to arise at the level of CD34+ hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells. They include essential thrombocythemia (ET), polycythemia vera (PV) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF). All can progress to acute leukemia, but PMF carries the worst prognosis.
