Transcription profiling of yeast knockouts: DAL82, PDR3, UGA3 vs wild type


ABSTRACT: Isogenic YAF9+ or yaf91- yeast strains were treated with Caesium Chloridesalt. Targets were obtained from 3 Caesium Chloride concentration points: 0mM, 100mM and 150mM. Two biological replicates of each were generated and the expression profiles were determined using Yeast double genome DNA microarrays (Saccharomyces cerevisae) with 6000 genes, URL http://www.transcriptome.ens.fr/sgdb/services/catal og.php. Comparisons between the sample groups allow the identification of genes with differential expression over time between YAF9+ and yaf9-. Experiment Overall Design: Sample from 2 genotypes, 3 concentration points, 2 biological replicates were analyzed

We analyzed the global transcriptional response of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells exposed to different concentrations of CsCl in the growth medium and at different times after addition. Early responsive genes were mainly involved in cell wall structure and biosynthesis. About half of the induced genes were previously shown to respond to other alkali metal cations in a Hog1-dependent fashion.
