Transcription profiling time series of Arabidopsis leaves after infection with Rhodococcus fascians pathogenic strain D188

ABSTRACT: Samples were taken at 7, 14 and 24 days post infection (dpi). Two treatments were considered: infection with R. fascians D188-5 that is non virulent (control) and infections with the virulent D188 strain.

The comparison between transcriptome of rdr6-1 and sgs3-1 mutant alleles impaired in PTGS and development (juvenile-to-adult transition) and transcriptome of rdr6-5 and sgs3-3 alleles impaired only in PTGS would allowed identification of genes involved in the developmental default (zip phenotype) of the null alleles (rdr6-1 and sgs3-1 mutants).

Transcription profiling of the1, prc1, prc1_the1 and prc1_the2 gene knockout Arabidopsis dark-grown hypocotyls to identify genes involved in cell wall integrity signalling

Project description:Inhibition of cellulose synthesis by chemical inhibitors or in a mutant background leads to rapid inhibition of cell elongation. This inhibition appears to be an active process, which involves feedback signalling from the cell wall. We have isolated two loci THE1 and THE2, which are identified by mutations that partially suppress the dark-grown hypocotyl phenotype in a mutant background for cellulose synthase catalytic subunit CESA6_PROCUSTE1. THE1 encodes a receptor kinase and may play a role in this feedback signalling process. To identify genes that are regulated by THE1 and THE2, we compared the transcript profiles of 5 day-old dark-grown seedlings of the1-1_prc1-1 with prc1-1 ; the1-3_prc1-8 with prc1-8 ; prc1-8 or the1-3 with WS and the2-1_prc1-1 with prc1-1.

Transcription profiling of honey bees for identification of changes in transcript abundance relating to Colony Collapse Disorder

Project description:Remaining adult bees in colonies suffering from CCD at apiaries in Florida, California and Pennsylvania were collected during the winter of 2006-2007. The health of CCD colonies was scored at the time of collection as either ï¾severeï¾ or ï¾mildï¾ depending on the apparent strength of the colony. ï¾Historicalï¾ bees, collected prior to the appearance of CCD and hence ostensibly healthy, were collected in 2004 and 2005 from colonies set up on new equipment and not receiving any miticide treatments from apiaries of The Pennsylvania State University near State College, PA. A combination looped, common-reference microarray design was used to compare historical and CCD samples with each other; a blend of RNA isolated from healthy colonies (collected near Urbana, IL in July 2007) served as reference. The microarray experiment compared the guts of bees from mildly and severely afflicted colonies collected in apiaries experiencing CCD on the East Coast (Florida and Pennsylvania) and West Coast (California) with a common reference.
