The microorganisms were grown in co-culture and monoculture batch incubations under microaerobic growth conditions. RNA-Seq profiling was used to compare the transcriptomes of both Sideroxydans sp. CL21 and S. oneidensis when grown in co-culture compared to growth in monoculture
