Transcription profiling of yeast wild type and ggc1-delta strains after treatment with rapmycin


ABSTRACT: This experiment was a 4-part timeseries (or, 2x2x4 factorial design) designed to provide additional biological insight into the role of ggc1 in the rapamycin response of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Treated and untreated cultures were compared at 0, 1, 2, and 4 hours of growth, in both WT and ggc1-delta backgrounds.

To identify new molecular targets of rapamycin, an anticancer and immunosuppressive drug, we analyzed temporal changes in yeast over 6 h in response to rapamycin at the transcriptome and proteome levels and integrated the expression patterns with functional profiling.
