Intracranial aneurysms are common, but only a minority rupture and cause subarachnoid haemorrhage, presenting a dilemma regarding which to treat. Vessel wall imaging (VWI) is a contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique used to identify unstable aneurysms.
